  • What is a hybrid course?

    A hybrid course is a course that meets 50% in the classroom and 50% online using a Brightspace classroom. Brightspace is CCC’s learning management system.

  • How often per week do hybrid classes meet?

    That depends on your course length:

    • 8-week courses meet twice a week for 3 hours each meeting with 6 hours of online work outside of class
    • 12-week courses meet once a week for 4 hours each meeting and 4 hours of work outside of class
    • 16-week courses meet once a week for 3 hours each meeting and 3 hours of work outside of class
  • Do I need to be online at a specific time?

    You do not have to be online at any specific time. Instead, you do the online work at any time in a given week when it is convenient for you.

  • What do I need in order to take a hybrid course?

    To be successful in a hybrid course you will need:

    • Good time management skills
    • Internet access and access to a computer, smart phone or tablet—you may also use the CCC Computer labs
    • Willingness to learn with technology

  • What technology skills do I need for a hybrid?

    You will need the ability to:

    • Send and receive/read email
    • Download electronic documents
    • Open and save electronic documents
    • Navigate the internet (i.e. open a web browser, visit a website, click on a link, etc)
  • How do I sign up for an Adult Education hybrid course?

    Students interested in taking a hybrid Adult Education class should go to the nearest Adult Education office to register and to take the ESL placement test. New students can register online but will still need to go on campus for the placement test.
